The medium 3/8″ in diameter S hook is for medium applications, such as attaching butt chains to the trailer wall. 3 3/8″ L. 523 lb. working load limit, 1,292 lb. minimum breaking strength.
The large 7/16″ S Hook is for heavier applications, such as attaching trailer safety chains on 2 or 3 horse bumper-pull or tag along trailers.
It’s best to match the diameter of the S Hook to the diameter of the chain it’s attached to.
